The problem
The way your business runs is in your head. That is fine until it is not.
It stops being fine when you get sick, take a holiday, or try to hand something over. Then you find out the only copy of the instructions is you, and explaining it takes longer than doing it. So you do it yourself again, and nothing changes.
What I do
- Sit with you and watch how you actually do the thing, not how you think you do it
- Write it down step by step, in plain English, with nothing assumed
- Test it — if someone else cannot follow it, it is not finished
- Hand it back in a form you can edit yourself
If part of it should be set up as a system rather than a checklist, I will tell you, and I can set that up too.
What it costs
Quoted for the job. Fixed scope, fixed end date, priced on what you get rather than the hours I spend.
Tell me what you are after in a few sentences. Within one business day you will get either a price, or the two or three questions I need answered before I can give you one. Nothing is charged until a scope is agreed in writing.

When it is not
If the process is fine and there is simply too much of it, you do not need it written down. You need someone doing it — that is ongoing admin support.
What you get to keep
Everything I write is yours. It comes with a plain-English note on how it works, and you can take it in-house whenever you are ready. Your business should not depend on me being available.

- How long does it take?
- It depends on the process. The scope agreed in writing includes an end date, so you know before it starts.
- Do I need to prepare anything?
- No. Rough notes are genuinely fine, and so is nothing at all. Watching you do it is usually faster than being told about it.
- What if it changes later?
- You can edit it yourself. That is the point of handing it back in plain English rather than locking it inside a tool.
- Do I have to be in Canberra?
- No. I am based in Canberra and happy to come to you here. Everywhere else, this works online.
